Fahrusha and Kate Valentine were pleased to welcome illustrious author and paranormal investigator George P. Hansen to “Shattered Reality Podcast”. There was so much to speak about that it was difficult to fit it into an hour and fifteen minutes. Hansen looks at the paranormal from the view of anthropology and skepticism but never debunking. He views many of the phenomena of the paranormal as being affected and sometimes caused by the Trickster. He gives two compatible definitions of who or what the Trickster is, the first of which concerns the folk traditions of many, if not all, indigenous cultures around the world. Some of the famous folk tricksters are Loki of Norse mythology, the Coyote of the American Southwest, Iktomi (spider) of the Lakota and Ananzi (spider) of the Caribbean and Africa. These Tricksters are shapeshifters so they can appear in different guises. In his words “The trickster archetype is not designated by immediately observable physical features. Rather it is a more abstract constellation of characteristics that is usually personified (i.e., identified with a person or animal).” His second definition is a bit more ephemeral to explain. It includes many aspects of psi including boundary crossing, irrationality, fakery, change and instability and it is, by its very nature, non-binary.
We tackle many subjects, especially including UFOs. For instance these objects are often seen to be shapeshifting, and some might be interstellar or not, and of course they may have more than one origin and they often appear at times of great change. The purported occupants may lie to humans or their communication may seem absurd or be misunderstood. They often appear to people when those people are in altered states of consciousness, as in the liminal state.
On February 27, 2018 Fahrusha and Kate Valentine were happy to welcome Dr. Julie Beischel to “Shattered Reality Podcast”. She received her doctorate in Pharmacology and Toxicology with a minor in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Arizona in 2003. She is the co-founder and Director of Research at the Windbridge Institute for Applied Research in Human Potential and is at the forefront of modern studies into mediumship. Currently, part of the Institute has spun off into the Windbridge Research Center, whose mission is to ease suffering around dying, death, and what comes next, by performing rigorous scientific research and sharing the results and other customized content with practitioners, clinicians, scientists, and the general public.
Survival of consciousness is the key element in understanding mediumship. In this model the brain is seen to be akin to a radio receiver and not the seat of consciousness. The mind or the consciousness is thought to be non-local and exists beyond the death of the body. Mediums are psychics that concentrate on obtaining information about the deceased. American mediums are 90% female. In Dr. Beischel’s research, the mediums that were tested are blinded to any knowledge of the deceased person or the sitter beyond the first name of the deceased. The results of the experiments were all statistically significant in favor of the validity of mediumship. In parapsychology there is a classic debate regarding where the mediumistic information might be coming from. Does it come from so-called “super-psi” (the pool of information available through psychic functioning), or from a deceased person’s after death consciousness? Because I (Fahrusha) do not like binary choices, I also posited that some information might come from non-human disembodied entities, not constricted by space and time. We discussed the relationship of auto-immune diseases to being a medium or a psychic, versus the relationship of childhood abuse or trauma to disease in general.
Beischel has written several very accessible e-books including From the Mouths of Mediums Vol.1 Experiencing Communication, Meaningful Messages: Making the Most of Your Mediumship Reading, and Among Mediums: A Scientist’s Quest for Answers.
Note: Tom Butler was our guest who spoke about EVP (Electronic Voice Production) in conjunction with messages from the deceased.
Russell Targ, renowned physicist and author, joins Kate Valentine and Fahrusha for an amazing conversation about remote viewing. This episode is a MUST listen. Shattered Reality Podcast is honored to present this psychic pioneer and his fascinating story about his seminal work in remote viewing as a contractor for several clandestine alphabet agencies.
Targ is the author of nine books. His latest The Reality of ESP: A Physicist’s Proof of Psychic Abilities he feels is most complete, partially due to the fact that he was able to include both photos and information that were previously, but no longer, classified. He is also the producer of a new film titled Third Eye Spies which is due for release at the end of the year. Fahrusha has seen two iterations of the film in progress and hails it as an important historical document and a gripping narrative of psychic espionage. The award-winning director of the film is Lance Mungia.
One quote from the movie’s home page sums up Russell Targ’s point of view about remote viewing, “The CIA, NSA and DIA used it, your tax dollars paid for it, and now you deserve to know about it.”
On March 27, 2015, Kate Valentine and Fahrusha have a nice chat with the British born psychic, shaman and remote viewer Angela Thompson Smith. She is the author of five books, Remote Perceptions, Diary of An Abduction, Voices from the Cosmos (With C.B.Scott Jones, Ph.D.), River of Passion and Shire. In addition Ms. Thompson Smith is a nurse, social worker and earned a Master’s Degree in Great Britain. The genial discussion is far-ranging and covers various paranormal topics. Fahrusha had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Thompson Smith at the 2015 International Remote Viewing Association (IRVA) convention in New Orleans.
On February 20, 2015 Kate Valentine and Fahrusha spoke with David Biedny about the nature of the paranormal. David, author of the very first Photoshop handbook, is a digital imagery expert having participated in the making of the original Photoshop program. He teaches at an Ivy League University and has had
a podcast and radio show on Rockland World Radio called the Angry Human. He was co-host for the first four years of the Paracast. But most importantly he is an experiencer of a wide variety of paranormal phenomena.
Our second podcast features author and artist Philip Smith speaking about his book Walking Through Walls, his father psychic healer Lew Smith, and his art. Philip Smith, a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Award and former managing editor of GQ Magazine joins us to tell about growing up with his well-known father. His book is a must read for all students of things psychic and mystical. In addition, it is a well written and sometimes humorous account of life in Miami during the fifties and sixties. I could feel the spirit of his father coming through Philip’s words during the interview.
We invite you, gentle listener, to suggest guests, submit experiences, like our FaceBook page, Shattered Reality Podcast (radio station designation because FaceBook has no category for podcasts – how 20th century of them ;-)) and our websites http://shatteredrealitypodcast.com
